Tecumseh's Appleumpkin Festival, located in southeast Michigan was voted Lenawee County’s Best Community Festival for 2016. It will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 14 & 15, 2017 in Downtown Tecumseh, Michigan.
The Appleumpkin Festival has fun activities for all ages! The arts and crafts show features handcrafted works by over 100 artisans from Michigan, Ohio and beyond. The antique street fair is a great spot to search for treasures to add to your collection. If you are in the market for antiques be sure to stop by one of our many local antique and vintage shops. They offer a large selection of collectibles for decorating your home and lawn.
Children’s activities at the festival include building their own scarecrow at the Make-It-Take-It Tent, playing in the corn box, trying their skills at putt putt golf or making free crafts. They will also enjoy the midway rides and carnival games. Children & adults can take a ride in a monster truck or enjoy the fantastic view by taking a helicopter ride! Saturday features an Antique Tractor Show with vintage tractors on display.
The fresh crisp fall air and fun activities are sure to work up an appetite! The Appleumpkin Festival brings some of your favorite fair food to town, with options that are sure to tempt your taste buds...corn dogs, funnel cakes, hand cut fries, fajitas, pizza, caramel apples, fresh squeezed lemonade, even deep-fried cookie dough! And of course, there will be plenty of apples, cider and donuts! Plus, Tecumseh's restaurants will be open to serve up delicious food and tasty treats. From your morning muffin and sweet roll to soup, breadsticks and sandwiches for lunch to delicious dinners ... we have many great dining options from which to choose.
The Bushels of Talent - Talent Showcase highlights local talent from various genres. Trophies are awarded on Sunday. Take in some live music and acoustical entertainment as you enjoy great bands and plenty of music throughout the weekend at various locations around the festival. From bands to solo and duet performances - there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.
While you are at the festival stop in at one of our Downtown unique shops for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. From wine and cheese to home decor, women's clothing, children's educational games and toys, model trains to furniture and coin collecting to Michigan made products... Tecumseh has something for every interest.
Other weekend activities at various locations downtown include: Tecumseh District Library Used Book Sale, the Tecumseh Middle School 7th & 8th Graders Builders Club Haunted House at the Tecumseh Public School Board Office on the 3rd floor, and the Tecumseh American Legion Chicken Broil.
Free parking and free shuttle service is available from Tecumseh High School to downtown and also to Kapnick Orchards Apple Festival. Parking is available downtown as well. Handicap Parking will be available in the Old National Parking lot after business hours on Saturday, starting at Noon until 6 pm and Sunday 10 to 5 pm.
