2nd Annual LC4 Alumni Reunion

Friends of Lucas County Dogs is hosting a day of celebration for dogs adopted from Lucas County Canine Care & Control or dogs who originated at Lucas County Canine Care & Control and were adopted from a transfer partner. The event will be held on Sunday, September 22nd from 1-4pm at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve at 29530 White Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.

Jeanette Pacholski, President of Friends of Lucas County Dogs states, “This is a time to celebrate the dogs who through no fault of their own, were brought to LC4 and to the families who have provided them a new life outside the shelter. We also celebrate the rescue groups who pull dogs from LC4 and provide wonderful foster homes until they are adopted. Last year over 100 dogs celebrated the first ever event and we look forward to even more dogs this year.”

“It will be a great time for LC4 staff and volunteers to reunite with dogs that they helped while at the shelter”, said Laura Simmons-Wark, LC4 Outreach Coordinator.

Music will be provided by Joshua James and dogs from Canine Karma will show off their talent and tricks. Rudi, an LC4 alum and her human will have two “Reading with Rudi” sessions. Rudi, who is deaf, has earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate. She frequents schools and a local public library where she provides comfort to children as they read to her. In addition, she likes to show off her sign language capabilities. Pawtography by jen c will also be at the event for dog portraits.

There will also be raffle basket drawings, a raffle of a handmade dog quilt donated to FoLCD by a community member and homemade baked goods for humans and dogs. Friends of Lucas County Dogs will also be selling merchandise including LC4 shelter dog paw print art and apparel.
