Good Morning Football co-host Peter Schrager announced he's leaving NFL Network during the show's live broadcast Monday (March 31) morning.

Schrager, 42, who also hosts the iHeartMedia NFL podcast, The Season with Peter Schrager, specifically named Front Office Sports' Ryan Glasspiegel and the Athletic's Andrew Marchand during his confirmation following their reports of his departure last Friday (March 28).

"The rumors are true. Today is my last day on Good Morning Football. I end with great feelings, we're going to celebrate today. I love everyone on this show. It's all good. But this will be the last episode I'll be on this program," Schrager said.

Schrager didn't specifically mention what his "bright future" entails, however, Glasspiegel and Marchand both reported that he was in "serious talks" with ESPN, which would include contributing to NFL Live, Get Up and First Take. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport confirmed that Schrager was leaving for a rival network during the Good Morning Football broadcast, though not specifically naming ESPN.

“Peter Schrager has now agreed to terms with someone else,” the NFL insider said. “We’re not going to tell you who. It could be anyone. He’s joining another group of insiders that I would say is not as good looking… agreed to terms, he’s done.”

Schrager, who previously told the Athletic that he auditioned for ESPN's Dream Job reality series while in college, was already contributing to FOX Sports and Showtime's Inside the NFL, along with his iHeartMedia podcast duties, while under contract with NFL Network.
