Personally, I'm not an overtly religious person, but I must say....the Football Gods have bestowed upon us a GREAT blessing.
The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Alabama Crimson Tide have announced a home and home series in 2027-2028.
And IMMEDIATELY as with all things, fans are upset.
"Why do this?"
"Why are we giving up a possible win?"
"This doesn't help us!"
Relax, take a seat, and crack open a cool one.
These are two massively successful programs. So successful in fact, that Bryant-Denny Stadium is having problems getting students in the stands early in the season! Imagine not being able to sell out the Doyt because you don't want to see a 72-0 blowout. I'd love it.
There's a glaring problem in College Football right now. We have a playoff that's exclusive to only power five programs. So why not just play Citadel every year? We get an easy win, the smaller school gets to fund non-revenue sports to come play us. The problem is nobody cares about week 2 and 3.
This is a treat for all of us, because Ryan Day and Nick Saban didn't have to do this. They could continue beating up on buffalo and citadel every year, but instead we're going to get back-to-back showdowns.
Here are Anthony Bellino and Jake Woods from the Morning Blitz discuss the exciting matchup between the Tide and the Buckeyes.
