Plaxico Burress: "I side with Christian McCaffrey on this one. The NFL is not doing players justice by having them play 4 days after playing on Sunday. Wednesday travel day is not a rest day, and when you wake up on Monday you feel terrible from Sunday. You really don't start feeling like yourself until Friday, but a lot of people don't know that. With the Thursday night game, Aaron Rodgers said it a couple years ago, the NFL is not doing their due diligence in taking care of these players because it is tough to get yourself back together 4 days after you played a football game. I've never been a fan of it."
LaVar Arrington, TJ Houshmandzadeh, and Plaxico Burress respond to Christian McCaffrey's complaints about Thursday Night Football, saying that playing on a short week contributed to his recent injury. Plaxico sides with McCaffrey in his complaints, agreeing that the NFL is not truly looking out for the best interest of its players by forcing guys to play on a short week. TJ acknowledges that he was fine playing on short weeks, but for McCaffrey and other running backs the shorter week can take a greater toll on players who play more physical positions.
