Denver Broncos HC Sean Payton took a veiled shot at his former quarterback Russell Wilson after his squad beat Wilson’s Giants in spectacular comeback fashion while Russ watched from the sidelines after being benched for Jaxson Dart. Dan wonders why Payton felt the need to pile on Wilson, whose career seems to be coming to an ignominious end, especially considering the Broncos won the game!
Dan Patrick: “I was disappointed in Sean (Payton). You got Bo Nix, you got the win; move on… Tough to take over a team and then you inherit a quarterback that you don’t think can run your offense. You want somebody younger that you can mold and Sean’s been able to do that. But to take a shot at Russell Wilson, I mean, that’s not fair to Russ.”
